Dreambook is a story creation app where children create their own illustrated books. Kids choose a character, a world, and the kind of story they want, and Dreambook writes and illustrates it for them, adapted to their reading level, and narrated aloud if they want it to be.

Dreambook is built for children ages 6 to 8, and it grows with them. Inside the app you can set a reading level for each child across three bands: 5 and under, 6 to 8, and 9 and up. Younger and older siblings in the same family are supported alongside our core age group, so one household can cover a range of readers.

Books will always matter, and Dreambook is not a replacement for them. It does something a printed book cannot: it puts your child in the story, in a world they picked, at the reading level they are actually at today. It works alongside the books on your shelf, not instead of them.

Four steps, and a child can do all of them:

• Choose a character. Pick one of Dreambook's characters, or build your own.
• Choose a world. A haunted house, a space station, a jungle, and many more.
• Choose a mood. Eerie, hilarious, mysterious, and others. This sets the tone of the whole story.
• Read it. Dreambook writes and illustrates the story, and it lands in your family library.

Yes. Children choose a character's look, including outfit, and pick the background art for their character card. Each character then keeps a journal that fills in over time with every story they have appeared in, so a character your child made a month ago has a history behind them. That journal is what turns a character into theirs rather than just an avatar.

Every story is shaped by the character, the world, the mood, and the story type your child picks, plus the reading level set on their profile. Two children choosing the same world will not get the same book.

Yes. Every story your family creates is saved to your library and stays there for as long as your account is open, so children can re-read favourites whenever they want.

No. Dreambook meets children where they are. Pre-readers can have stories narrated aloud while following the illustrations, and parents can read along together. As a child's reading grows, you raise the reading level on their profile and the stories grow with them.

Stories are written to your child's reading level, so the language is challenging enough to stretch them without being discouraging. Word highlighting follows along during narration to connect the spoken word to the written one. And because your child chose the character and the world, they are motivated to get to the end of the book in a way that assigned reading rarely achieves.

Finishing a book earns your child a diploma with badges marking what they accomplished. You can see their reading level and how many words they have read across all their stories.

When a child invents the character, they are not a passive reader anymore; they are the author. That changes how closely they pay attention, how long they stay with a book, and how much of the story stays with them afterward.

Yes. Every story can be narrated. Dreambook includes a set of built-in narrator voices that are ready to use immediately, with no setup and no recording required.

Yes. The Custom Narrator feature lets a parent record their own voice, and Dreambook will narrate stories in it. It means you can read to your child at bedtime even on the nights you are not there: travelling for work, on a different shift, or living in a different house.

Yes, with an extra layer of verification. Recording a child's voice requires Verifiable Parental Consent through Kids Web Services, run by Epic Games and certified COPPA-compliant by two FTC-approved Safe Harbor programs. Verification happens entirely on Epic's systems; no payment or facial data ever reaches Chronicle Creations.

Voice recordings and the narrators generated from them are treated as biometric data, the strictest category we handle. They are encrypted in storage and in transit, they are never used to train any AI model, and they are never used in marketing. You can delete a narrator from inside the app at any time, and you can request full deletion of a recording by emailing us.

Only if you specifically allow it. When you set up a child voice narrator, you are asked separately whether stories using that voice may be shared outside the app. If you decline, those stories cannot be shared externally; you can still share the same story with a built-in or parent narrator instead.

You set each child's reading level, and you can adjust the character types, worlds, moods, vocabulary, and story styles available to them. You can also delete any story from your library at any time.

Reading together is genuinely the best version of Dreambook, and it is what we would encourage. But the app is also built for a child to use on their own once they are confident, and everything that needs an adult decision sits behind a parental gate.

No. Purchase options are never shown in the child's view. Every purchase requires an adult to pass a parental gate and complete the transaction through Apple.

Yes. One parent account supports multiple child profiles, each with its own reading level, characters, journals, and story history.

Yes, and it is built that way from the ground up. There is no chat, no comments, no public profiles, no friend discovery, and no contact with strangers of any kind. Dreambook is offered under Apple's Made for Kids designation, which subjects it to Apple's strictest privacy and safety review.

No. No ads of any kind, no ad networks, no behavioural advertising, and no cross-app tracking. This is a requirement of the Made for Kids designation and a commitment we make independently of it.

Only what the app needs to work: your child's in-app selections (characters, worlds, moods, themes) to generate stories and keep their library and journals, and basic technical data like device model, app version, and crash reports.

What we do not do is more important. We use no third-party analytics: no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel, nothing. We do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), the vendor identifier (IDFV), any custom device identifier, or fingerprinting. We do not use cookies. We do not log IP addresses. We do not build advertising profiles on children, and we never sell data.

No. Your family's inputs and stories are not used to train our AI models, and we have no pipeline that ingests user content for model improvement. Story prompts sent to Google's Gemini API run under enterprise terms that prohibit using customer inputs to train Google's models. Voice recordings are never used for training under any circumstances.

Every story runs through age-appropriate prompt design, safety filters and banned-content screening on the text, and automated review of the finished narration audio before your child hears it.

We will not tell you AI is perfect, because it is not, and any company claiming otherwise is telling you something else about itself. What we will tell you is where the checks are and what happens when something slips through: if you see anything that seems off, email us at contact@chroniclecreations.co and we investigate every report.

Sharing is entirely your choice and always requires an adult to pass a parental gate first. When you share a story, Dreambook creates a link to a page on dreambook.kids. Anyone who has that link can view the story, and recipients can forward it, so treat it the way you would treat any link you send someone.

Shared stories never include your account details, your name, or your child's name. Nothing in a shared story identifies your family. You stay in control: delete the story in the app and the link stops working immediately for everyone, no matter how far it travelled.

Yes, at any level. Delete individual stories inside the app. Delete a voice narrator inside the app. Or delete the entire account from account settings, which removes all your family's data within 30 days. For anything more specific (particular journal entries or voice recordings while keeping the account), email contact@chroniclecreations.co.

Chronicle Creations owns the underlying story-generation system, the illustration style, and the pre-built characters, so the generated stories themselves remain our intellectual property. Your family gets a broad personal licence to read, keep, and share everything you create, for as long as your account is open.

In practice that means you can do anything a family would want to do with a story. What you cannot do is sell it, publish it commercially, or use it in advertising. If we ever feature a story publicly, it is fully anonymized first, with every identifying detail stripped out. Voice recordings and custom narrators are never used commercially under any circumstances.

Yes. Seven days, no credit card required. The trial does not roll into a paid plan automatically. Nothing is charged unless you actively choose a subscription at the end.

You keep them. Every story, character, and journal your family made stays in your library. Your account stays open whether or not you are subscribed, and you can come back and subscribe later without losing anything.

Prices are listed in US dollars. Dreambook is available in 14 countries, and Apple shows you the price in your own currency before you buy and bills you in that currency, so the amount you see at checkout is what you pay.

Yes. Two one-time story packs, with no subscription and no commitment:

• The Spark: $9.99 USD for 15 stories.
• The Treasure: $29.99 USD for 60 stories, which works out about 25% cheaper per story.

Pack stories never expire, and they bypass the daily and weekly limits. They are yours to use whenever you want them.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device, open Settings, tap your Apple ID, choose Subscriptions, select Dreambook, and tap Cancel Subscription. Access continues to the end of the billing period you have already paid for.

Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account or your stories. Those are separate; you keep your library either way.

Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases, so we cannot process them directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Open a story, tap Share, and pass the parental gate. Dreambook creates a link you can send to grandparents, a co-parent, or a teacher. See “Who can see the stories we share?” above for exactly how those links behave.
