What age is Dreambook for?

Dreambook is designed for children aged 3+, although we encourage all ages to become creators.

What are the stages of using Dreambook?

1. Profile Set-Up: Users create a profile for their child, tailoring the experience to their age and reading level.
2. Character Creation: Users can design custom characters, choose from pre-made options, or randomly generate characters to appear in future stories.
3. Story Selection: Users select story elements such as setting, tone, theme, and choose between a more picture-focused or text-focused reading experience.
4. Story Creation: Dreambook generates a unique, personalized story tailored to the child’s selected options.

Why this matters: Famous American novelist Ernest Hemingway said all good stories are the same because “they are truer than if they had happened” and by the time you finish reading, “you feel that all that has happened to you and afterwards belongs to you.” We aim to create that same feeling for you and your child. Each story you create together will feel deeply personal—crafted by them, and just for them.

Education Impact

Does my child need any prior reading experience?

Dreambook meets children at their earliest level of reading. Parents can read stories with their children regardless of level, and both can use the app together.

How does Dreambook enhance my child’s reading ability?

Dreambook adapts each story to match your child’s reading level, creating a self-paced learning environment where they can progress with confidence. By allowing children to take the lead in creating their own stories, Dreambook fosters independence and a love of reading.

Why do children create their own characters?

It is empowering for children to create the characters in the stories they read. Dreambook allows them to design characters—robots, animals, or people—that reflect their imagination and identity. When children contribute to the creation process, they connect more deeply with the story, stay engaged, and are more likely to carry the morals and lessons into daily life.

How will I know my child is making progress?

After finishing each book, your child earns a special diploma with badges celebrating their reading achievements. You’ll be able to track their reading level and see how many words they’ve read. Dreambook also supports learning through phonics, helping children recognize letters, understand English, and build decoding skills.

Why not just stick to physical books?

Books will always be essential. Dreambook doesn’t replace them—it complements them by providing instant access to personalized stories that make reading feel personal and relevant.

Parental Involvement

As a parent, how much control do I have over the content?

Parents can adjust the reading level and focus of the story. Character types, environments, moods, vocabulary, and narrative style can also be tailored.

Do I need to be with my child as they use Dreambook?

While co-use is encouraged, Dreambook is also designed for independent reading. Parents may guide children at first, and children can increasingly explore on their own as they grow confident.

Can my child make in-app purchases in Dreambook?

No. Any in-app purchase options—such as extra story packs—are only visible in the parent view. Children never see purchase prompts, and all transactions require parental approval.

Safety and Privacy

Is Dreambook a safe environment for my child?

Absolutely. Dreambook provides a safe and supportive space with no public ratings, comments, or interaction with strangers. Children can share stories only within the app in a controlled environment.

Will Dreambook collect data or personal information about my child?

Dreambook only uses activity data to improve the learning experience and personalize stories. We never sell data or use it for targeted advertising.

How does Dreambook ensure my child doesn’t see inappropriate content?

All stories, images, and features are filtered for age-appropriateness using our Dreambook Child Story Guard to prevent exposure to explicit, violent, or inappropriate content.

Who has access to my child’s stories shared within the app?

Parents have full control over who in the family can access their child’s stories.

Can I request account data deletion?

Yes. We will delete all associated account data upon request.

Pricing & Ads

How much does Dreambook cost?

Dreambook offers a $9.99/month subscription for unlimited stories. A free plan and pay-as-you-go options with tiered pricing are in development.

Does Dreambook use in-app ads?

No. Dreambook does not show ads to users.

Can siblings share one account?

Yes. Families can set up multiple profiles under one parent account so each child has their own reading level, characters, and story history.

Technology & Compatibility

What devices are compatible with Dreambook?

Dreambook is designed for iPad and works on most recent models. Additional device support is planned.

How can I share my child’s completed stories?

Parents can save completed stories as a PDF directly from the app, which can then be printed or shared with family and friends.
